No Bake Savory Oat Ball: Bikin Matcha Cream Cheese Energy Balls




Savory Energy Balls with Cheddar Cream Cheese and Green Tea Protein Powder



Hampir semua what so called “healthy food and snacks” itu rasanya cenderung manis. Are you agree? Mulai dari buah-buahan, dried fruits, granola bar, overnight oats, muesli (dan muesli bar), yogurt, sampai healthy low sugar low carb gluten free cookies. Snack savory yang paling umum biasanya keripik umbi-umbiat, rumput laut yang crispy itu dan kacang-kacangan.



Sebagai pencinta makanan gurih asin, saya terniat banget to make healthy savoury snacks. At least dimulai dengan bahan yang selalu ada in my kitchen: rolled oats energy balls. Energy balls ini adalah campuran antara biji-bijian utuh, gandum utuh (rolled oats), dan superfoods yang bernutrisi plus ngenyangin – itu sebabnya disebut energy balls. Most of energy balls recipes menggunakan peanut butter dan coklat yang akan menghasilkan sweet energy balls. After browsing resp sana sini, dan considering tekstur berbagai ingredients, jadilah ide dan percobaan pertama bikin energy balls pakai cream cheese! Ternyata percobaan ini jadinya enak, dan I’m more than happy to share biar para pecinta snack asin gurih bisa ikutan menikmati dan bikin sendiri snack sehat yang ga ribet dan enak!



Equipment

  • Non-stick pot/saucepan/pan

  • Silicone spatula

  • Sendok ukur

  • Airtight container

  • Food grade sarung tangan plastik



Ingredients:

  • 11/2 cup rolled oat

  • 1 tbsp chia seed

  • 2 cups cheddar cream cheese – I use MEG

  • 11/2 scoop matcha protein powder – I use Nutrilite Green Tea Protein Powder

  • 2-4 tbsp water



How to Make

  1. Siapkan cream cheese dalam suhu ruangan

  2. Siapkan pan, masukkan rolled oats dan toast/sangria sampai wangi

  3. Angkat pan dari api, masukkan cream cheese, chia seed dan protein powder

  4. Mix them well, tambahkan air secukupnya

  5. Setelah tekturnya cukup liat, bentuk bulat-bulat dan letakkan di tray

  6. Masukkan ke dalam kulkas to allow the mixture to be stiffed

  7. After 30 minutes, enjoy your savory energy balls!



Notes

Sangrai rolled oats bertujuan agar oats tidak terlalu chewy. Toasted oats membuat rasanya lebih nutty. You can opt to skip this step



Saya sengaja menggunakan pan sebagai mixing bowl (mencampur semua ingredients) karena panas dari pan membantu cream cheese untuk melted easily



Energy balls ini bisa tahan selama 1 minggu di kulkas. Simpan dalam air tight container
